Planning for College BEGINS in Kindergarten

As I craft this blog I sit and stare every few minutes at my daughters while they run and play their version of "supergirl" up and down our driveway.  I can help but think about the fact that raising my daughters alongside my husband has been the most enjoyable experience I’ve ever had.  I am so proud to be the mommy of Lea and Sydnee and one day look for them to enter their college years.  ...somewhere between 2021 and 2025 respectively.

My opportunity to facilitate a workshop today on this subject with several parents of the Chestnut Street Youth Achievers program in Louisville, KY was very enlightening.  The information I shared may not be new but to hear the "stories" of other parents and how they "do business" in their homes and communities is always new to me.

My contribution in Raising African American Girls is dedicated to all young girls everywhere who look to not just be admitted to college but going to college, getting involved, making the grade and graduating,…all while being a productive campus and community citizen.

There are probably millions of top 10 lists for college preparation and then some but I submit that those that I have chosen to write about are a sneak peek into what I consider to be those that remain at the forefront of my personal interest.

5 ways to become more productive...FOREVER!

How many times have you gotten to the end of the day and said to yourself,...."Self, what on earth did I accomplish today and how did I do it?"  Well, there have been many occasions when I have thought that but not anymore.  I refuse to aimlessly spin my wheels pushing paper and yapping about nothing that I think is something while precious time quietly seeps by.

As a result of having to connect with an audience of collegians, I found myself eagerly researching some of the best time-management principles and strategies.  I came across one that impressed me so much that I am implementing them into my own work and personal world as well as encouraging others how to do the same.

Roger Constandse, a time-management expert and creator of the ACHIEVER PLANNER software, speaks to how to "GET MORE DONE IN LESS TIME" in a way that is sure to resonate with you so that you will never go back to out-dated, time-management habits that leave you thinking "WDIDT" aka "what did I do today?"

DO YOU HAVE ANY OUT-DATED TIME-MANAGEMENT HABITS OR ATTITUDES THAT YOU'VE IMPROVED FOR THE BETTER? Need more?

Let's stop wasting time on wasting time.  To learn more about this revolutionary 5-step productivity system (and receive his complimentary e-book) please visit me at: http://www.clarklifeconsortium.org/contact_clc
